Meet The Boois - Three Generations, One Island, And A Northern Legacy You Can Feel
Nestled in the quiet wilderness of NW Ontario, Booi's Island is a place where tradition runs deep and hospitality come naturally.
Meet your Booi hosts - Jim, a fifth-generation Canadian and third-generation outfitter, and Tracy, a proud third-generation Canadian. Both were born and raised in NW Ontario, and together we've had the pleasure of hosting guests on Booi's Island for decades.
Jim Booi is truly a bushman. Whether building hand-hewn log cottages, skinning moose and bear or guiding fishermen or when he flew his own bush plane- he's done it all, and then some. A fifth-generation Canadian...third-generation Ontario camp operator and a second-generation host on Trout Lake, Jim carries on a legacy built in the bush. Tracy, his wife and partner, is a fifth-Generation Canadian and a third -Generation Red Laker. After meeting Jim as a young woman, she joined him on Trout Lake and has been part of the island ever since- supporting the day-to-day guest experiences, keeping things organized and running smoothly and helping guests share the beauty of Booi's island.
Clayton, their eldest son - and a sixth-generation Canadian, was also born and raised on Booi's Island. Though his path has led him into the world of acting, the island remains a touchstone. When he's not on set, you'll find him back at the lodge- helping Tracy in the office or out across the island supporting staff and guests alike. Clayton brings calm, capability, and a deep-rooted connection to the place hew grew up. We're always grateful when he's home.
You're invited to experience the the Booi family's way of life - rooted in tradition, shaped by the land, and shared with every guest who joins us on the island.
